.RESET GAME
This option will reset all data files associated with the current game and
then returns you to the beginning of the game. There is one file however that
does not get reset or erased. This is the Game News File. If the information
in that file is not needed for the new game you can use the 'Delete Game News'
option to erase it. This is because the news contained in that file may concern
the game in general and not any one game.
.RESET WINNER FILE
Every time the game is won the players information is placed in a winner file
that other players can view. If you decide it is too long or is getting out-
dated you can use this option to restart it.
.EDIT DOOR SYSOP
This option allows the BBS Sysop to select one user to maintain this door.
When you select this option you can enter a users name (Real name, not Alias)
or hit ENTER to cancel. The users security level from the BBS need not be
changed and makes this a valuable option for busy Sysops that run a lot of
doors.
.WRITE GAME NEWS
There are times that you want to convey information to the players and we all
know that not all callers visit the message base area in the main bbs so this
is a very useful feature. You can keep adding to the file or delete it and
start a new one. All news is dated so that the players will only have to read
it on the day that they play after you have updated or changed the news. You
have a maximum of 15 lines for each message. If you have more news than will
fit within these 15 lines just select the option again and [A]dd to it. This
file is not erased when the game is won or reset. This can be done with a
separate command.
.DELETE GAME NEWS
This option allows you to delete all the news contained in the Game News File.
.LIST PLAYERS
This will give you a list of all countries and their current rulers. If a
country has been defeated it will state that that country is radioactive.
If it says there is an Unknown ruler then it is an open country and has no
ruler.
.EDIT PLAYERS
This will allow you to page through the player data base one record at a time
so that you can change various fields. If a caller lost connection during the
game and ended up losing some of their turns you can edit that field. You can
also delete the account all together which would return it to an Unknown Ruler
status. The [N]ext and [P]revious commands will wrap automatically. When you
get to the highest record it will start over at 1 and if you are at 1 and hit
previous it will go to the highest record.
.VIEW PLAYERS
This is a combination of the previous two commands, but with no editing. It
will display a list of all players and allow you to enter the number of the
player that you want to view. This is faster than having to page through each
record until you find it.
.EDIT # OF TURNS
This allows you to set the number of turns a player can take each day from 1
to 9. To make the game more interesting and challenging, 5 is suggested. If
this game is new to your BBS you may want to set it higher to allow players
the opprotunity to learn it quicker. Then you can set it lower. This can be
changed at any time during during a game, but will not take effect until the
next new play date for each player.
.QUIT MAINTENANCE
This will exit the System maintenance and return you to the game.
.HELP
Allows you to view this file.
